Well done to a staggering 18 teams who arrived at Harlow Town’s cricket ground to take part in this year’s Rapid |Fire Cricket event. Having learnt many lessons from last year’s first attempt, the event was a resounding success thanks to the efforts of many school staff, who were able to assist Gill Pardoe and Rebecca Lott throughout the day. The children made real progress across the different games, with many children learning as they went. The schools and staff who had attended the CPD run earlier in the term by David Stacey (SGO for Harlow) stood out and showed the importance of pre-practise and preparation.
Having played in three groups, the 18 teams were whittled down to the final four. Once the semi-finals had been played the final (and the 3rd/4thplayoff took place). Our congratulations go to the team from Henry Moore A, who edged out The Downs in a thrilling final; Church Langley B took 3rdplace from Cooks Spinney (4th). We would like to wish Henry Moore the best of luck as they represent Harlow in the forthcoming county finals.
