A superb afternoon of football was enjoyed by the 8 teams who had made it through from last week’s qualifying rounds to play in the finals at Mark Hall Academy. Once again the standard of play was very high and all teams looked to keep the ball on the deck as much as possible. The weather was good and spectators cheered warmly for all manner of good play - which was lovely to hear. From the preliminary round of games Church Langley and Milwards ended up as group winners and contested a very close final. Milwards went deservedly ahead but Church Langley managed to hit back with two goals of their own to secure a first Best Team tournament win for some time. Henry Moore and Katherines played off for third/fourth places, with Henry Moore winning 2-1 also.
Thanks as always to the organisers and officials for such a smooth event (finishing ahead of schedule!) and to all the staff, spectators and players who made the event so enjoyable. The results are as follows:
Group 1
Church Langley - 9 points
Katherines - 7 points
St Nicholas - 5 points
Roydon - 3 points
Group 2
Milwards - 8 points
Henry Moore - 7 points
St Albans - 6 points
Tanys Dell - 3 points
Third/Fourth Play Off - Henry Moore 2 v Katherines 1
Final - Church Langley 2 - Milwards 1
Congratulations to Church Langley, who will now represent Harlow in the Level 3 event later in the term.
