Cross Country event a great success

Despite some of the issues surrounding the rescheduling, the atmosphere and the standard of running at this year’s Cross Country event was amazing. The sun shone down on Paringdon Sports Centre, as 21 teams provided various numbers of runners to compete over the grass course. With the fantastic support from the staff at Paringdon Sports Centre, the Harlow Athletics Club (particularly Mr Paul Bailey) and students (marshals and hares) from Passmores, Mark Hall and Burnt Mill the event was as competitive as ever.

Over 350 runners competing in either a 900m course or (for the older age) a 1500m course. Most pleasing was the range of schools and individuals who managed to achieve a top 3 finish; this is great for Harlow. There were a number of impressive performances throughout and many children surprised themselves with how well they ran.
