Yet again the children of Harlow were treated to an amazing opportunity as the Indoor Athletics circus rolled into town. With many teams dropping out at the last minute, the remaining 6 teams battled it out for the Year 3 and 4 championships with great determination and sportsmanship. With a morning full of exciting track and field events, the children jumped hurdles; threw foam javelins; crawled under tunnels; leapt vertically and horizontally; as well as running their socks off in the various events.
Thanks were given to Adam Burgess (Sportshall UK) for running the event and to the Sports Leaders from Mark Hall Academy who officiated, judged and demonstrated all the activities really confidently. The final results were:
1. St Lukes 330 points
2. Church Langley 318 points
3. William Martin 262 points
4. Hare Street 260 points
5. Churchgate 246 points
6. Tanys Dell 176 points
Congratulations to St Lukes who narrowly edged out last year’s winners Church Langley by points. Well done to all the teams and competitors involved, there were plenty of personal achievements and many smiling faces.
