Churchgate and Church Langley truimph

Congratulations were awarded to Churchgate and Church Langley A as they shared the winning spoils in the first tournament of the year! A fantastic day of football, with 14 teams (including: Tanys Dell x 2, St Lukes x 2, St Nicholas, St Albans, Pear Tree Mead x 2, William Martin, Milwards and the Downs) culminated in two thrilling semi-finals, with Tanys Dell A and Church Langley B unlucky not to progress to the final, which ended 0-0 and both teams sharing the winning podium.

Over 130 children enjoyed some fun games and drills designed to improve their communication and footballing skills, before participating in an afternoon of 7-a-side group matches. Thanks were given to Gill Pardoe (Church Langley) and Phil Baines (St Nicholas) who forwent the opportunity to coach their teams and officiated brilliantly throughout the day.

A great start to this year’s Sporting Calendar - well done to all.
