Church Langley squeeze home a sportshall win

Church Langley narrowly edged out St Lukes Primary school in a thrilling afternoon sportshall athletics finals for Years 5 and 6. Having been comprehensively beaten by St Lukes in the younger age group in the morning the Years 5 and 6 took home the winners medals, with only a 4 point victory margin.

Teams from Pear Tree Mead, Harlowbury, Hare Street, Tanys Dell, Roydon, St Lukes, Church Langley, Fawbert and Barnard and Holy Cross competed in a series of thrilling races and field events. The runners were asked to leap hurdles, crawl through tunnels, exchange batons and run considerable distances, which they all did with great success and enjoyment.

"The afternoon, like the morning was another great success for the children of Harlow Primary Schools; yet again the tireless work and enthusiasm of the teaching and support staff of these schools is nothing short of inspirational. There were over 200 children running, jumping and throwing their hearts out but always with smiling faces and handshakes at the end. Again a special mention must also go to the 12 Sports Leaders from the Mark Hall Academy who helped organise and run the events; they were a credit to their school and provided great role-models for the younger children to aspire towards becoming."
