Playground to Podium event 2011

On Friday 11th March 120 students in years 7-11with Special Educational Needs descended on Mark Hall Sports Centre to participate in a tri-school sport partnership Playground (SSP) to Podium event.

The event was hosted by Harlow School Sport Partnership and the students took part in, and received coaching in athletics, cricket, football, table tennis, and wheelchair basketball.

There were a total of 10 schools from the 3 partnerships represented on the day, and Harlow Fields, Mark Hall and Passmores schools from Harlow all sent students to the event.

The main aim of the day was to provide opportunities and coaching in different sports for the students and some of them will be invited to a county day later in the year.

George Gardiner, Partnership Development Manager for Harlow SSP said “it was great to see so many children having fun and enjoying the opportunity to take part in different sports and my thanks go to all those involved who made the day such a success”
