Panathlon Event

Defending Champions Harlow Schools Sports Partnership are once again through to the 2010 final of the year for Essex Panathlon.

The Team qualified by winning their semi-final of this event for special needs students which is a combination of games – boccia, kurling, table cricket, polybat and athletics, including jumping, throwing and races including self propelled and motorised wheelchairs, there is also wheelchair slalom.

Harlow was represented by 30 students from Harlow Fields and Mark Hall Sports College. The event was attended by approximately 200 students from Colchester, Tendering, N W Essex and of course Harlow. It was a tremendous occasion with many events having very close results. Harlow won two out of the four games events but really excelled in the races winning all but one of the relays. The Harlow team achieved 1st place in the Shot and long jump. Every student finished in the top 3 in their events and were ecstatic as were the coaches, teachers and support staff.

The team now look forward to the final to be held in Chelmsford on July 1st.
