Year 3’s and 4’s bask in sunshine at Netball

In complete contrast to last Friday’s Cricket Skills event, the Years 3 and 4 Netball Festival at Mark Hall Academy was bathed in sunshine with many teams desperately seeking shade from the heat. Despite the ‘heat’, the children thrived amongst an atmosphere of positive encouragement and coaching. 19 teams from across Harlow came together to learn and develop the game of High-5 Netball. With 36 matches played during a busy 75 minute period in the afternoon, the children were able to follow rotations to experience different positions on and off the courts.

SSP Manager David Stacey once again thanked the support from the attending school staff who helped guide the children through different tactics and rules that were relevant to their understanding of the game. Special mentions to Geraldine Sanders from Saint Nicholas and Cassie Broughton from Henry Moore, who helped David, Gill Pardoe and Luke Hammond umpire the games.

Teams who attended were: Water Lane, Nazeing x 2, Henry Moore x 3, Purford Green, Tanys Dell x 2, Jerounds, Hare Street x 2, William Martin, Newhall Primary x 3, Pemberley and Saint Nicholas x 2
