Once again, with a change from the previous competitive format, this year’s annual badminton event was a resounding success. The event was adapted to be focus more on coaching key skills, reducing wait times and enjoyment. The new format was excellent and all the children (and staff) involved commented on the increased level of engagement and the greater progress of skill acquisition.
The children from Purford Green (2 teams), Pemberley, Jerounds (3 teams), The Downs, Nazeing (4 teams), Saint Nicholas and Cooks Spinney (2 teams) formed 14 teams who took part in a number of fun challenges; the staff were even involved in a shuttlecock version of the ‘stuck in the mud’, which the children dominated! Harlow SSP Manager, David Stacey thanked all the children for displaying fantastic behaviours throughout the morning and gave huge praise to the 6 Sports Leaders from Mark Hall Academy who led their groups confidently throughout.
