Henry Moore Girls Win Cricket Event

Congratulations to the all-female team from Henry Moorey, who triumphed in this year’s Girls Dynamos competition at Harlow Town CC.

Once again, the girls’ event was disrupted by  a series of late withdrawals (residential visits, school photos and lack of practice time) which reduced the number of teams to 8. School Sports Partnership Manager, David Stacey was determined to carry on the event, despite the low number and was treated to a day of sunshine and smiles.

All the girls made terrific progress, supported by the coaching and umpiring from Gill Pardoe and Al from Essex CC. The standard of play was good, as the teams responded to the new version of Kwik cricket - Dynamos, which had the added element of additional coloured balls for free hits!

After a long day in the sun the eventual results were as follows:

Henry Moore 41-4, beat Nazeing in the finals 35-5

The 6 other teams were: St Nicholas, Tanys Dell, Newhall, Milwards, Church Langley and Nazeing 2

We wish Henry Moore all the very best as they take on the winners from the other regions in the Essex County Finals at Billericay on Tuesday 2ndJuly at Billericay CC.
