Congratulations to the team from Little Parndon (Year 6’s) who narrowly edged out Cooks Spinney 2 in a very close final match in this year’s Rounders Finals. Played at Harlow Town CC on a bright but breezy morning, 8 teams came across to take part in this annual competition. Despite low numbers (due to various staffing issues, the Queen’s impeding Celebrations and with it being the last day before half-term) the standard of play improved throughout the morning. Some teams clearly hadn’t a lot of time to practise and found the volume and nature of the rules quite challenging but to their credit, they learnt quickly and gave their best efforts.
Having both topped their respective groups, Little Parndon and Cooks Spinney 2 played an entertaining finals – with a ½ rounder of the last ball securing the win. Little Parndon will now go on to represent Harlow in the County Finals and we wish them all the very best.
