Having successfully escaped the elements in the morning’s festival, the older children competing in the Emerging Years 5 and 6 Tag Rugby Festival weren’t quite so lucky with the weather. However, the very high-standard on show from the 15 teams, more than justified the inclusion in a very busy calendar for the emerging teams to showcase their talents.
Following on from last week’s Tag-Rugby Finals, the emerging event sought to provide more opportunities for those children in school who were not able to take part in the previous event. The quality of the tag-rugby played was very good and the children given an opportunity really enjoyed demonstrated their skills, in a less-competitive environment.
Our thanks were given to the 10 schools attending: St Nicholas, Pemberley (x 2), Henry Moore, Church Langley (x 2), Holy Cross, Freshwaters (x 2) and Little Parndon. Special mention to Michael Adams and Michael Lyons, both connected to Harlow Rugby Club for umpiring the games in the afternoon.
