Football Festivals Freezing Fun!

Despite a wind chill factor of -10 degrees, both football festivals were great fun and the kids who attended had lots of fun.

The morning event was impacted severely by the new Covid variant and Christmas activities in school for the younger children. Despite a series of late withdrawals, 4 teams (Hatfield Heath x 2, Henry Moore and Church Langley) played against each other in a small round robin. The referees ensured that there were no heavy thrashings, keeping all participants moving and engaged. The kids gained much from playing and there were huge smiles throughout the morning.

The afternoon was a busier event with 14 teams showcasing their talents. Teams were spilt into 3 groups and support from Marcus Cattell and Harry Stacey ensured that the games ran smoothly - again with no heavy defeats. The afternoon festival, much like the morning, saw huge improvements among many players all with huge enjoyment across their faces.

Thanks to everyone for supporting the events this term - we know it's a challenging period to engage children and keep everyone safe, but we have made excellent progress towards a full return.

Enjoy your Holidays - see you in 2022
