Badminton Come and Try Event – super success
A slight change for this year’s annual badminton event. Having reflected upon the previous struggles, the event was adapted to be less focused on competitive matches and more on coaching key skills and enjoyment. The new format was excellent and all the children (and staff) involved commented on the increased level of engagement and the greater progress of skill acquisition. The children from Tanys Dell, Hare Street, Hatfield Heath, Cooks Spinney and The Downs formed 12 teams who took part in a number of challenges in between time spent playing single and doubles formats; the staff were even involved in a shuttlecock version of the ‘stuck in the mud’, which the children dominated! SGO, David Stacey thanked all the children for displaying fantastic behaviours throughout the afternoon.
