Kurling Festival - another huge success

Once again, we have made a huge impact on the lives and enjoyment of so many children – this time the focus was on increasing participation rates and improving the standard of the competition. Mission achieved!

As ever, our thanks go to all the school staff for their support and efforts during today’s Kulring events at Mark Hall Sports Centre. Having learnt from last year – we spilt the Boccia (which was last week) and Kurling into separate events; this allowed us more time to focus on one sport and provide greater opportunities. Again both events were very well attended – with 24 teams in each.

The morning’s events ran really well with many children adapting to the new game with confidence. Having played their opening group matches, the teams were re-pooled with the strongest teams entering Groups 1 and 2 and the developing teams playing in groups 3-6. There were no overall winners as this event is a festival.

Teams entering the Years 3/4 Boccia Festival were re-grouped (see below):

Group 1 - Cooks Spinney 1, St Albans, Purford Green 1 and Milwards 1

Group 2 – Abbotsweld, Little Parndon 1, Purford Green 2 and Little Parndon 2

Group 3 – The Downs 2, Katherines, Cooks Spinney 3 and the Downs 1

Group 4 – St James 1, St James 2, St Lukes and The Downs 3

Group 5 – Pemberley 1, Church Langley 2, Milwards 2 and Cooks Spinney 2

Group 6 – Church Langley 3, Pemberley 2, Church Langley 1 and Milwards 3
