Congratulations to St Albans Girls team, who came out on top of what was a thrilling, if slightly chaotic at times, football festival at Mark Hall Academy. With 16 teams and 48 matches scheduled into a 2hour time slot, it was always going to be tight for time; thanks to Gill Pardoe and Dan Pardoe for officiating and trying their hardest to keep to the timings.
With over 130 Yr5/6 girls taking part the afternoon was fast and frenetic; having played 3 matches within 4 pools to decide the final groupings, the girls played further matches to determine the ultimate winners. With only 5 minutes per game in the final stages the lack of goals became apparent and the majority of games finished in goalless draws, despite the girls eagerly attacking and defending their goal. The final placings were as follows:
Group 1
St Albans (9 points)
St Lukes A (6 points)
Holy Cross A (6 points)
Pear Tree Mead (3 points)
Group 2
William Martin (7 points)
Katherines (7 points)
Milwards (5 points)
Church Langley A (5 points)
Group 3
St Nicholas (7 points)
Fawbert and Barnard A (7 points)
The Downs (5 points)
Tanys Dell (5 points)
Group 4(nomads)
St Lukes B (6 points)
Holy Cross B (6 points)
Fawbert and Barnard B (6 points)
Church Langley B (6 points)
With St Albans lifting the trophy, with 3 wins out of 3 in the first place finishers group. We wish them all the best as they represent Harlow in the Level 3 competition at the Len Forge Centre on 19thNovember 2015
