Yet again, the staff of Harlow primary schools pulled together in a time of need to ensure that the Tag-Rugby Qualifiers were able to take place and that nearly 400 pupils had an opportunity to represent their school and experience competitive sport.
With a change of venue required due to frozen pitches at the Harlow Rugby Club, David Stacey and Luke Hammond were able to secure alternative venues at very short notice courtesy of Passmores Academy and Church Langley Primary School. Further support was provided as school staff switched venues and reorganised transport at very short notice to ensure that all those pupils selected didn’t miss out.
The morning began with 15 teams attending an event at Passmores Academy, which although frosty to start with, thawed quickly. Despite the cold weather, the Tag-Rugby was red hot, as the boys and girls chased and powered through to score some awesome tries and make try-saving tackles.
