Wild Weather doesn’t stop Footy Fun
Well done to all the Year 1 and 2 teams and staff who attended a very wet and gloomy football festival at Mark Hall Academy on Friday morning; despite the damp and dreary conditions, the children had a fantastic time and really enjoyed themselves.
Playing in small groups, the 5-a-side format was continuously adapted to get as many children playing as possible – one match saw 4 v 9! Staff from all the participating schools helped to ensure the games were evenly contested, with referees adding their ‘help’ when needed. All the children received ‘teamwork’ stickers as a reward for their hard work.
Thanks again to Luke Hammond, Gill Pardoe and Jack Stacey who assisted David Stacey in running the event for over 120 children. Teams taking part were:
Purford Green, The Downs x 2, Henry Moore x 4, Freshwaters; Jerounds, Potter Street, Saint Nicholas, Holy Cross, Cooks Spinney x 2, Milwards x 2 and Church Langley x 2
