Building on the success of the WSL and the Lioness, congratulations went to the 19 teams of Year 3 and 4 Girls who attended the Girls’ Football Festival at Mark Hall Academy on Friday morning. Throughout the 36 matches, all the teams were well-managed by school staff who adapted the numbers to ensure maximum participation. The Girls really enjoyed themselves and there was plenty of football in between lots of squeals, high-fives and smiles. The sportsmanship remains a strength of this event and all the children had a fantastic time.
Thanks to David Stacey, Gill Pardoe, Luke Hammond, John Esteves and Francis Brown for refereeing all the matches and to the staff of the schools who continue to support these events which the children love and gain much from. Teams attending were:
Fawbert and Barnard x 2; Henry Moore x 3; Church Langley; Cooks Spinney x 2; The Downs; Purford Green; Potter Street; Milwards x 2; Hare Street; Jerounds; Saint Nicholas; Tanys Dell x 2; and Pemberley Academy.
