Congratulations to the all-female team from Church Langley, who triumphed in this year’s Girls Dynamos competition at Harlow Town CC.
Once again, the girls’ event was disrupted by late withdrawals (stolen minibuses, school photos and lack of practice time) which reduced the number of teams to 5. SGO David Stacey was determined to carry on the event, despite the low number and was treated to a day of sunshine and smiles.
All the girls made terrific progress, helped tremendously by the coaching from Ian Gray from Essex CC Youth Pathway and the SGO staff. The standard of play was good, as the teams responded to the new version of Kwik cricket - Dynamos, which had the added element of additional coloured balls for free hits!
After a long day in the sun the eventual results were as follows:
Church Langley A - 12 points
St Nicholas - 10 points
Nazeing A - 8 points
Church Langley B - 6 points
Nazeing B - 4 points
We wish Church Langley all the very best as they take on the winners from the other regions in the Essex County Finals at Billericay on Tuesday 4th July.
