Advantage Roydon – Tennis Competition Success
Congratulations to Roydon and all the young budding tennis players who descended upon the Harlow Lawn Tennis Club on Friday morning to take part in the annual Years 3 and 4 Tennis Festival. The red-ball competition was great fun and the children made huge progress in their ranked games. A first round of matches was followed by re-pooled group games, with Roydon eventually taking first place. The full result were as follows:
Group 1
1st Roydon – 9 points
2nd Newhall – 7 points
=3rd St Nicholas – 4 points
=3rd Hare Street – 4 points
Group 2
5th Cooks Spinney 2 – 9 points
6th St James 1 – 7 points
7th The Downs 1 – 5 points
8th Cooks Spinney 2 - 3 points
Group 3
9th Hare Street 2 – 8 points
10th The Downs 2 – 7 points
11th Holy Cross – 6 points
12th St James 2 – 3 points
Roydon will join the other teams from the top seeded Group 1, to take part in the Tri-Cluster Finals afternoon on Wednesday 21stJune at the Harlow Tennis Club. They face the strongest teams from the Uttlesford area (Saffron Walden, Dunmow etc.) and the West Essex Partnership (Loughton, Epping Forest, Theydon Bois etc.). We wish all teams great success.
