Henry Moore take 5 titles in Cross Country Success
Once again the weather tried its best to disrupt the planned sporting events but as always, with the support of the incredible Harlow primary school staff, the children had an amazing time. The roars from the crowds of spectators heralded the start of each of the 8 races in the annual cross country event at Mark Hall Sports Centre; the atmosphere was amazing and the runners responded and rose to the occasion. With the help of some pupils from Mark Hall to act as Hares and Tortoises, some volunteer marshals from Church Langley parent body, the event ran amazingly well with very few car parking or safeguarding issues.
Throughout the day some 800 runners competed and many completed personal best times around the morning course for children in Years 3 and 4 (1000m approximately) and the afternoon course for pupils in Years 5 and 6 (1500m approximately).
A full list of results has been sent to the schools and invitations for the top team and the 3 best individuals has been sent for the Essex County Finals taking place in Southend next week.
