SEND Festival success at Church Langley
34 children from a range of primary schools around Harlow (Little Parndon, Henry Moore, Church Langley, Nazeing, Milwards, Churchgate, The Downs and Fawbert and Barnard), attended an afternoon SEND festival at Church Langley Primary School. The children had an amazing time and the feedback from the supporting staff involved was incredibly positive. Incorporating children with a large range of additional needs, the SGO staff were supporting brilliantly by individual 1-1 support staff to enable pupils to access the activities throughout the afternoon. Starting outside on the all-weather surface, the children were introduced to a game of Kings. This followed with the athletes being split into 3 groups and rotating around tri-golf putting, howler golf and boccia.
The afternoon concluded inside the main hall as the children engaged in sitting volleyball, some Just Dance before some pupils were invited to take part in a game of goalball. School Games Organiser, David Stacey beamed as pupils chatted enthusiastically about what they had liked best and how they were looking forward to returning in the summer for even more activities. As always, events like this are only possible with great organisation and wonderful support from amazing school staff.
