Girls’ Just Wanna Have Rugby Fun at Harlow Rugby Club
Another first; Another success!
Over 200 girls descended upon Harlow Rugby Club on Friday morning to take part in the inaugural Tag-Rugby Festival. An amazing 25 teams took part in a series of games designed to improve their skills and understanding of this energetic game. As always the support from school staff contributed to the huge numbers of athletes and the slick organisation of the event. 50 games were completed inside 2 hours and SGO David Stacey heaped praise on the referees (Gill Pardoe, Harry Stacey, Luke Hammond and Francis Brown) and the school staff for great teamwork.
The girls enjoyed the opportunity to play without the pressure of intense competition (and the boys) and many were excited at the prospect of attending the Harlow Rugby Club sessions on Sunday mornings, who were instrumental in supporting this festival.
The teams attending were: Little Parndon, Purford Green, Potter Street, Church Langley, Henry Moore, Tanys Dell, Cooks Spinney, Saint Nicholas, Nazeing, Pemberley, Milwards, Holy Cross, Pear Tree Mead and The Downs.
