Younger pupils have great time at Indoor Athletics.
Following the morning of secondary school competition, the afternoon of indoor athletics for children in Years 1 and 2 was well attended and received. With an adaptive format to resemble the older age groups, the younger pupils had a great time competing in track and field events, without the pressure of scoring and competition. Again, Sports Leaders from Church Langley Primary School were on hand to guide and support the young athletes – many who were competing for the first time.
Teams from Church Langley, Saint Nicholas x 2, Fawbert and Barnard x 2, Henry Moore x 2, Tanys Dell, Pemberley and Holy Cross x 2 had a great time. Nearly 100 pupils cheered excitedly as the all competed in relay races, sprints, soft javelin throws, standing long jump, speed bouncers and the chest push.
David Stacey, School Games Organiser for Harlow, gave thanks to all the school staff for supporting such a great event.
