Congratulations to the 4 schools (Jerounds, water Lane, St Nicholas and St Lukes) who provided 10 teams to compete in this year’s Key Steps Gymnastics Finals, which were once again held in co-operation with the Harlow Gymnastics Club. The venue was amazing, with the sprung floor and exciting apparatus an inspiration to all who entered the hallowed arena; the children competed in Floor and Vault (KS1) or Floor, Vault and Body Management (KS2) and performed sequences of movements, some to music in groups, others in teams and some by themselves. The audience were enthralled throughout and the judges from the Harlow Gym Club found the standard of gymnastics was once again very high.
The results were as follows:
Years 1 and 2 -
=1st - St Nicholas 1- 64.80 points
=1st - St Nicholas 2 - 64.80 points
2nd - Water Lane 1 - 63.70 points
3rd - Water Lane 2 - 63.20 points
4th - St Lukes 1 - 61.40 points
5th - St Lukes 2 - 60.70 points
Years 3 and 4 -
St Lukes - 110.74 points (1st)
Jerounds A - 107.04 points (2nd)
St Nicholas - 105.59 points (3rd)
Jerounds 2 - 104.68 points (4th)
Our thanks once again to Peter and Gordon from the Harlow Gym Club (and their team of judges); it is truly an inspiring venue, which is available for schools to use during the day. Good luck to the winning teams in the Level 3 finals (date to be confirmed)
