HSSP Key Steps Gymnastics 2013

Harlow School Sports Partnership - Latton Green and St Nicholas Jump and Tumble to Titles!

 

On Tuesday 30thApril 2013, 96 gymnasts comprising 16 school teams arrived at Mark Hall Sports Centre to compete in the annual Harlow Key Steps Gymnastics Festival.  The teams were competing in two age groups – years 1&2 (9 teams) and Years 3&4 (7 teams).   

 

The teams all performed group and individual gymnastic routines and every gymnastic completed a solo vault gaining scores for their teams. 

 

Saint Nicholas took the year 1&2 title with a total score and Latton Green took the year 3&4 title and has now won at least one of the team events at this competition for the last 4 years.  Both of this schools and the schools who finished 2nd(Latton Green Year 1&2, Abbotsweld and St Lukes year 3&4 will now represent Harlow Schools at the county competition which is taking place at Basildon Sporting Village on May 22nd2013.

 

The following schools entered teams: Abbotsweld, Holy Cross, Latton Green, St Lukes, St Nicholas, and Water Lane

 

George Gardiner Partnership Manger; Harlow SSP said “it was great to see over 100 very young children competing against each other in an Olympic sport in such good spirit. 

 

Everyone who has taken part in today deserves a massive thank you for making the day such a success with particular mention to the support the event gets from Epping Gymnastics Club who ran the event and to Harlow College who supported the event with Sports Leaders”.
