The course started with a simple introduction to hand ball.
The instructor explained about how different size equipment was used for different ages and how rules could be simplified to accommodate.
The participants were split into groups and played a competitive match introducing rules of the game. A final experience for the participants was to organise a competitive tournament and then officiate, time score and compete against each other.
This experience was highly valuable for our young sports leaders as it gave them experiences around competition and gave them the opportunity to interact with different age groups from surrounding areas.
This now gives us the opportunity to offer our students a new curricular and extra curricular sport that they may not have experienced as well as giving our young sports leaders a first step into the coaching roll in the community.
