Huge smiles of joy at CL’s Superstars Festival
What a fantastic morning was had by all! It was an absolute joy to observe over 100 young people with a range of different abilities, from 26 teams (15 schools) come together and enjoy the Superstars Festival at Church Langley Primary School. Whilst the weather held out for most of the time, the children engaged fully in a sporting event which allowed them to try a range of different physical activities – for most of them in a new setting.
The children rotated around 6 activities across the morning session: Hockey, Football, Tri-Golf, Boccia, Bench ball and Gym Trails, spending 10-15 minutes experiencing different team and individual challenges under the watchful eyes of support staff and event organisers. It was great to see the children shine in this environment; the way they supported each other in games was amazing and there were many wonderful moments and memories created.
Organiser, David Stacey is looking forward to a summer event with more sporting challenges for the children to try and the promise of ice creams and candy floss as a reward. David thanked the fantastic staff who provided the children with such an experience and to Luke Hammond and Gill Pardoe for supporting the event before and after.
Teams attending were: Church Langley, Milwards, Hare Street, Cooks Spinney, Pemberley Academy, Potter Street, Purford Green, St James, William Martin, Hatfield Heath, Fawbert and Barnards, Henry Moore, Churchgate and Ther Downs
