Howzat for a Superb Rapid Fire Festival!
Well done to the 12 teams who took part in this afternoon’s Years 3 and 4 Rapid Fire Cricket festival. The standard of play improved throughout the afternoon as the teams got to grips with some tricky rules regarding fielding and batting. Spectators and School Staff were treated to some glorious 6-hitting over the boundary ropes, whilst the fielding and teamwork on show was very impressive. Having played in initial groups, teams were re-pooled to provide further games against similar standard of opposition. As with all of our Festivals, we aim to develop children’s understanding of the rules alongside the skills required, so that they are better prepared for the Finals events which take place as they get older.
Once again, SGO David Stacey, thanked the Harlow Town Cricket Club for hosting the event, which the children and spectators thoroughly enjoyed. The final placings were as follows:
Group 1
1st– Henry Moore 2 – 6 points
2nd– Churchgate 2 – 4 points
3rd– Holy Cross – 2 points
Group 2
1st– Little Parndon 1 – 6 points
2nd– Tanys Dell - 4 points
3rd– Newhall - 2 points
Group 3
1st– Henry Moore 3 – 6 points
2nd– Churchgate 1 – 4 points
3rd– Little Parndon 2 – 2 points
Group 4
1st– Henry Moore 1 – 6 points
2nd– Fawbert and Barnard – 4 points
3rd– Church Langley – 2 points
