And we’re off and running this New Year - quite literally in today’s case!
A fantastic afternoon was had by the 9 teams who attended the Indoor Sportshall Athletics event at Mark Hall Sports Centre. Run by an external provider who provides the equipment, Eddie was very accommodating and adapted the standard format to suit the needs (and ideas) of SGO David Stacey.
The teams of 8 children (4 boys and 4 girls) took part in field events (chest push, standing long jump, speed bounce and javelin) and track events (1 lap relays, 1 lap obstacle course and 1 lap over/under). Ably supported by 15 young Sports Leaders from Church Langley, the children had a busy afternoon, trailing the different format; only minor tweaks will be required for next year’s event.
Teams who participated all received a medal for participation in an event which was part funded by the Birmingham 2022 Inspiration and Legacy funding from Active Essex. Thanks to all the staff and children for a wonderful afternoon.
Teams involved:
Hatfield Heath x 2; Fawbert and Barnard x 2; Church Langley x 2; Pemberley Academy and St Nicholas x 2
