The nights might be dark and the chill of winter is certainly upon us but we were all left with a warm fuzzy feeling after this afternoon’s SEND event. Our annual venture at the Harlow Leisure Centre was somewhat impacted by the effects of Covid and school staffing issues; numbers were slightly down on what was expected but the event, part funded this year by the Active Essex Commonwealth 2022 Legacy Funding, was a huge success.
Children with a range of physical, emotional and learning disabilities took part in an afternoon of activities which saw them try many new sports and games. The children laughed and smiled whilst they played kurling, sitting volleyball, golf and archery; many of the children really enjoyed wearing a harness and climbing in the Clip and Climb Zone.
Our thanks to Marcus and Gill from the West Essex Partnership for supporting us this afternoon; thanks to Sam Hammond for assisting David Stacey (Harlow SGO). Thanks to the children and staff of: William Martin, Little Parndon, Cooks Spinney, Church Langley, Milwards, Henry Moore, St Albans, St Lukes, Purford Green and Nazeing.
