Pemberley blaze their way to Dodgeball title

Once again, with excellent preparation, the Dodgeball Finals were a relative breeze. With 8 teams qualifying from last week’s events, the standard of play was always going to be high. Some of the throws were brutal – the speed and intensity were both frightening and awesome to observe. The catching and tactical play was impressive. The teams were grouped in the first round with the top two teams from each group moving through to the Final Four, whilst the 3rdand 4thplaced teams played in the Shield event. With 3 pitches, there was little time for rests in between each game and the teaching staff did an excellent job of keeping up to date. The final results were very tight in many respect but Pemberley Academy edged a few tight games to remain unbeaten throughout and take the Cup in a deserved fashion. The results of the afternoon matches were as follows:

Finals Group

Pemberley Academy – 9 points

Little Parndon 3 – 7 points

Little Parndon 4 – 5 points

Abbotsweld – 3 points

Shield Group

Freshwaters – 5 points

Latton Green – 5 points

Katherines – 5 points

Little Parndon 1 – 3 points

Congratulations to Pemberley Academy, who will now represent Harlow in the County Finals. Thanks to Sam Hammond and Dan Smart for officiating – you guys were awesome! Final thanks to all the adults that supported the event; again your help was invaluable and the fantastic standard of play and sportsmanship is directly attributed to your dedication.
