And it’s like we’ve never been away! The Harlow School Games are back in full swing and Friday witnessed some awesome gameplay in both the morning and afternoon qualifiers.
With 15 teams in each event (30 in total), 18 different schools, 60 matches (180 ends) and over 250 participants – the numbers represent a fantastic day’s sporting activity. Mark Hall Sports Centre was buzzing and the improvement throughout both events was evident as the teams dodged and ducked their way to various levels of success. For the 8 teams who qualified for next Friday’s Finals, the high standard of practice has helped them to hone their skills. But more impressive was the level of honesty and sportsmanship on display throughout the events – a massive well done to all the pupils and to the staff for managing their teams so effectively.
Huge thank you to Sam Hammond – filling in for the absent Gill Pardoe and to Dan Smart, for his first venture into Harlow School Sport; both officials were immense and they were well supported by the school staff. Thanks all for a great day!
