Despite the hectic events of the morning’s Badminton Festival, the Dodgeball Finals were a relative breeze in comparison. With 8 teams qualifying from last week’s events, the standard of play was always going to be high. Some of the throws were brutal – the speed and intensity were both frightening and awesome to observe. The catching and tactical play was impressive. In a change from the normal groupings, every team played every team – 7 games straight and no rest! The final results were so tight that a count back was needed and Little Parndon took the title by virtue of the head to head result against Church Langley. The results of the afternoon matches were as follows:
Little Parndon – 19 points
Church Langley – 19 points
Cooks Spinney Yellow – 17 points
Freshwaters – 15 points
Cooks Spinney Blue – 13 points
Henry Moore – 12 points
Cooks Spinney Green – 7 points
Purford Green – 9 points
Congratulations to Little Parndon, who will now represent Harlow in the County Finals. Final thanks to all the adults that supported the event; again your help was invaluable and the fantastic standard of play and sportsmanship is directly attributed to your dedication.
