Church Langley Retain Sportshall Titles

And we are done for the term!

Following on from Thursday's indoor sportshall athletics for Years 7/8 and 1/2, Friday saw the return to the more familiar territory of the Years 3/4 and 5/6. Once again both events were well supported and the children had an amazing time - the teachers in charge did really well, especially those who perhaps hadn't realised just how intense the events are; it was a steep learning curve for many of the adults but I'm sure this will stand them in good stead for next year.

The morning's event saw some excellent performances on the track and in the field by all the teams. Henry Moore, making their first appearance at the indoor sportshall athletics, performed really well; Little Parndon pushed hard and secured second place with Church Langley once again taking the outright victory. The final scores were as follows:

Church Langley - 690 points

Little Parndon - 666 points

Henry Moore - 664 points

Tanys Dell - 634 points

Pemberley - 580 points

Harlowbury 542 - points

Fawbert and Barnard - 534 points

The Downs - 502 points

The afternoon's event was even more competitive, with the children showing great pace on the track. The field events were close with some incredible speed bounce scores, showing great improvement on previous years. Again there were notable performances from Little Parndon and Henry Moore, with Tanys Dell taking a deserved second place. Church Langley continued their dominance with this event, retaining the trophy with a huge margin. We wish them well as they represent Harlow in the County Finals in March 2019.

The results are as follows:

Church Langley - 730 points

Tanys Dell - 680 points

Henry Moore - 658 points

Little Parndon - 646 points

Freshwaters - 602 points

The Downs - 528 points

Harlowbury - 492 points

Pemberley - 482 points

Thank you to everyone who has supported the events throughout this term - as always your help is greatly appreciated and together we provide amazing opportunities for the children in Harlow.
