Girls Cricket title ends in 3-way tie

Congratulations to the winning teams from Tanys Dell, Nazeing and Church Langley who all shared this year’s Girls Kwik-Cricket trophy. The event, held once again at the Harlow Town CC, was attended by 7 teams who enjoyed the warm weather and great facilities. The girls really improved throughout the day, making significant progress with their bowling, fielding and batting skills throughout the tournament.

With the help of the Passmores’ Year 8 Sports Leaders, all 7 teams managed to play everyone (6 games each) through the day and we even managed to finish early! The teams played really well and we were treated to some amazing catches and huge hits across the playing field. Such was the standard of play it was impossible to split the top three teams who all won 5 and lost 1– therefore it was decided to share the trophy for the second consecutive year. Unfortunately due to some rescheduling the Girls County Finals have already been held at Billericay CC. The teams listed below competed today.

Nazeing

Purford Green

Tanys Dell

Holy Cross

Church Langley

Fawbert and Barnard A and B

Thanks were given by David Stacey (SGO) to the Harlow Town CC, the Sports Leaders from Passmores and the staff of various schools who helped officiate throughout.
