Once again we have pushed the boundaries of sporting opportunities for the primary school children of Harlow by hosting our first ever table tennis tournament; and once again it was a huge success.
The afternoon was amazing; the standard of play was very strong, so much so that finding a clear winner in the time allowed proved impossible – the afternoon ended with 4 teams topping their respective groups which made hosting a final impossible. We decided that all four teams would share the winner’s accolade. The results were as follows:
Group 1
Harlowbury – 8 points
Kingsmoor A – 8 points
Tanys Dell A – 4 points
Fawbert and Barnard B – 4 points
Group 2
Church Langley – 8 points
Fawbert and Barnard A – 8 points
Kingsmoor B – 5 points
Tanys Dell B – 3 points
A massive thank you to Neil and Graham from the BATTS Table Tennis Club for providing us with excellent facilities and equipment; thanks also to David Simmonds (Kingsmoor Academy) who was able to assist myself and Gill Pardoe in umpiring throughout the afternoon.
