Wow! What a great afternoon!
Well done to all the 15 teams and players who came together this afternoon to take part in this year’s annual Basketball Festival for Years 3 and 4. Playing on 3 courts, the children really enjoyed themselves and certainly showed a better understanding of tactics and playing style which will stand them in good stead for the older competition in a year or two’s time. The relaxed atmosphere was certainly enjoyed by a large crowd of spectators who supported all the players really well.
Special thanks were given to Mrs Eastland’s (Fawbert and Barnard) and Mrs Smyth (Roydon) who aided Mrs Pardoe and Mr Stacey in officiated and helping yet another event to run so smoothly - and too time! The children really benefitted from the leniency towards the rules and the coaching points made.
Although a trophy and medals were not on offer due to it being a festival the results below showed that many teams have some talented players which bodes well for future Harlow competitions and Regional events.
