Coming away from the first-ever Year 1/2 Football Festival at Mark Hall Academy, personally I was beaming with pride. Certainly it is afternoons like today that actually makes all the hours and efforts so worthwhile - the kids were amazing and brightened even the cloudiest skies. A massive thank you to all of the 15 teams, who came from various primary schools, and had such an amazing time.
The children were divided into 3 groups on smaller 5-a-side pictures, with each team playing four matches throughout the afternoon. The young sports leader referees from Mark Hall Academy were outstanding in their conduct and the way they encouraged good play and sought to keep everyone enthusiastic - sometimes helping those who were struggling. The focus of the day was FUN and this was achieved. Thanks were given to the children, the staff and the officials for such a positive experience.
