St Lukes & Church Langley Share Football Cup

Once again huge congratulations to all the teams, players, spectators and staff members’ who came together at Mark Hall Academy to make this year’s Girls Football Tournament such a success. The standard of play improved throughout the afternoon as the 15 teams played out their group matches; eventually St Albans, Church Langley A, St Lukes and Nazeing made up the 4 semi-finalists and there was very little between them. Despite the end to end action, the final between St Lukes and Church Langley finished in a well-contested draw; both teams agreeing to share the victory trophy and winner’s medals. The 3rd/4thplay-off also finished in a draw with both Nazeing and St Albans having chances to secure a narrow victory.

Thanks were given to the 143 girls who participated and had such an enjoyable time; thanks were also warmly awarded to the referees (Mr Stacey, Mrs Pardoe and Mr Pardoe) who yet again ensured that everything ran to time and very efficiently.

A great event - both teams should be able to progress to the Level 3 events which is later in the term.
