Congratulations to the winner team from this years hockey finals, Church Langley A, who narrowly edged out their own C team in thrilling final at Mark Hall Academy.
With 12 teams qualifying, the standard of the tournament was always going to be high and so it proved. Some of the stick work on display was outstanding; there were fewer stoppages/penalties and the players adapted to the 'new self-pass' rule with consummate ease.
After the 3 group games were played the four semi-finalists (Church Langley A, Fawbert and Barnard B, St Nicholas and Church Langley C) battled it out, with a single goal and corner points separate the teams. Our thanks go to all the competitors, spectators and staff for the excellent sportsmanship on display throughout the event. Special mention again to the umpires Gill Pardoe, David Stacey and Bex Evans (William Martin) who once again ensured there were no issues preventing the children from enjoying another amazing opportunity.
We wish Church Langley A the very best of luck as they compete against the County finalist at Joyce Franklin, Newport on 3rd March.
