Yet again the children of Harlow have surpassed themselves to take part in our largest (and best!) Tag-Rugby Festival to date. Over 170 youngsters in Years 3 and 4 from various schools came to Mark Hall Academy to enjoy a day of Tag-Rugby skills; the children took part in a morning of activities (Rugby Rounders, Tag-Bulldog and Hedgehog’s crossing!) designed to improve their game understanding of tagging, passing, running with the ball and communication skills. The afternoon followed an impressive series of 45 matches, where teams were pooled in 3 groups of 6, playing everyone in their group. The standard of play improved dramatically during he course of the afternoon and the children smiled their way through the drab conditions.
The winners of the 3 pools were: Church Langley A, Pear Tree Mead A and St Lukes A. Our thanks were warmly given to all the adults and staff members of the schools who took part in their help in ensuring all the teams were ready on the pitches on time. Huge thanks were also applauded to the 3 referee’s (Gill Pardoe, David Stacey and Dan Pardoe - all from Church Langley) for officiating all 45 games back to back and continuously encouraging and assisting the children’s understanding of the game. It really was an amazing day for Harlow Primary Schools - a great team effort once again!
