Church Langley retain Best Team Cricket Cup

Well done to Church Langley A, who narrowly edged out St Lukes A in a thrilling final of the Best Team Kwik Cricket to retain the Shoahib Sakhoor memorial trophy. 16 teams (over 140 children) participated in the Level 2 Best team Cricket Event held at Harlow CC, Marigolds in Old Harlow, which was fantastically well umpired by 5 students from Mark Hall Academy. There were teams from: Holy Cross x 2, St Lukes x 2, Harlowbury, St Albans, Roydon, Fawbert and Barnard, Katherines, Water Lane, Church Langley x 4, Tanys Dell and William Martin. Thanks were given by the HSSP to Paul Baxter and the Harlow CC for supporting and providing such a picturesque venue, which yet again served to inspire a large number of children from local Harlow Primary Schools.

Having triumphed in the group matches, Church Langley A, St Lukes A, William Martin and St Albans A progressed to the semi-finals before Church Langley eventually played their way to success. William Martin took 3rdplace in a keenly fought 3/4 play off. Harlow SGO David Stacey was thrilled to “see the weather hold out and allow the children the opportunity to really improve on their skills, working as teams to play some excellent cricket. There were a number of notable achievements with the bat and ball, with every child contributing to yet another amazing event.”

We wish Church Langley A all the very best for the Level 3 event at Billericay CC.
