Change for Life Festival May 2015

Teams of 12 children from: St Lukes, Tanys Dell, St Nicholas, Fawbert and Barnard, Church Langley, Katherines, Harlowbury, Pear Tree Mead, Milwards and St Lukes enjoyed, running, shooting, jumping, dodging, dribbling and genuinely smiling their way through a series of activities at the Mark Hall Academy during the recent Change for Life Festival. Children who attend the weekly club after-school and some additional first time participants enjoyed either a morning or afternoon session of activities, taking part in sport-themed games in a non-competitive format.

In addition to taking his school, Mr Stacey in his role as SGO (School Games Organiser) for Harlow, ran the event with some superb assistance from Mark Hall Academy Sports Leaders and various staff from the schools; he was thrilled at the turn out - over 270 children came throughout the day. He beamed,

"Seeing the smiles of kids just simply enjoying being outside with their friends, taking part in sport is a privilege for all of us involved. Many children don't need inspiring to take part, they just need someone to provide the opportunities. Today was all about providing the opportunity. I am so thankful that Mrs Ward (Head teacher of Church Langley) and so many wonderfully dedicated staff of schools in Harlow, continue to value the role that sport can play within the curriculum. It's great to part of such a positive community, not just at CL but town-wide!"
