St Lukes race to sportshall athletics win

Congratulations went to St Lukes Primary school who romped home to victory in the Years 3 and 4 sportshall athletics finals. Beating 7 other teams, with a large winning margin of 40 points over runners-up Church Langley, the St Lukes team demonstrated great sportsmanship to go with their athletic prowess.

Teams from Pear Tree Mead, Harlowbury, Hare Street, Tanys Dell, Roydon, St Lukes, Church Langley and William Martin Juniors competed in a series of thrilling races and field events. The runners were asked to leap hurdles, crawl through tunnels, exchange batons and run considerable distances, which they all did with great success and enjoyment.

SGO David Stacey was delighted to see so many children enjoying themselves and competing in such a sporting manner.

"The morning was another great success for the children of Harlow Primary Schools; yet again another fantastic opportunity for over 150 children to develop a love of sport. A special mention must also go to the 12 Sports Leaders from the Mark Hall Academy who helped organise and run the events; they were a credit to their school and provided great role-models for the younger children to aspire towards becoming."
