Nazeing prevail to win Hockey Finals

Congratulations to Nazeing Primary School on securing victory in this year’s Hockey Finals at Mark Hall Academy. The standard of play throughout the afternoon was very impressive and the step-up from the qualifiers was clearly visible. Matches were very fast and the play often switched from end to end with some strong stick work. Despite the heavy rainstorm briefly interrupting the final group games, the tournament ran to time. The group matches resulted in a final between Nazeing and St Albans, with Henry Moore A and St Lukes playing for 3rd/4thplace. Henry Moore played really well and won convincingly 3-0 against a plucky St Lukes, whilst Nazeing played well to negate the St Albans swift counter-attacks - winning 2-0 in a competitive final.

The results are as follows:

Group 1

Nazeing - 9 points

St Lukes - 5 points (progressed on goals scored)

Church Langley A - 5 points

Henry Moore B - 5 points

Group 2

St Albans - 10 points

Henry Moore A - 9 points

Church Langley B - 8 points

Fawbert and Barnard - 7 points

Roydon - 6 points

We would like to wish Nazeing all the very best as they shall represent Harlow in the Level 3 competition next Wednesday (8thMarch 2017) at Felsted.
