G&T Day 3 - Harlow Outdoor Centre

Finally, after a year of torrential storms and bitterly cold winds the Gods smiled upon us and the sun shone brightly at the Harlow Outdoor Centre for the 56 Gifted and Talented children. Some of the participants were clearly keen, arriving well in advance of the 9.15 am registration but soon the registers were taken, medical forms gathered, groups sorted and it was off to the first activity of the day. The children were assisted by Gill Pardoe, Michael Pardoe and myself (David Stacey) and they undertook 3 activities throughout the day: Water Bumble - developing water confidence by jumping in/over obstacles and sliding down weirs; Indoor Climbing - developing climbing skills on a variety of course, whilst belaying for group members; and High Ropes - ascending ladders and towers before balancing at great height and/or jumping off.

The children were very good company and clearly enjoyed the experiences (some of them trying things for the first time).  Many of the images in the gallery demonstrate how much the children enjoyed themselves - for which they thanked the adults.
