Mini-Olympics a GREAT success for Years 1/2

Over 240 competitors from Years 1 and 2 travelled across town to Church Langley Primary School to take part in this year's Mini-Olympics. Teams from St Albans, Nazeing, Tanys Dell, St Lukes, St James, Church Langley and St Nicholas were organised by some 80 Sports Leaders through a series of 10 fun-packed activities. The children were encouraged to run, crawl, jump, throw, skip, shot, dribble and dance their way through either the morning or the afternoon all to a background of lively pop music. Staff, parents and spectators even joined in the action despite the famous British Summer-time trying to rain on their parade!

David Stacey (SGO for Harlow and Deputy Head teacher at Church Langley Primary) was thrilled with the turnout and the enthusiasm of everyone involved. He beamed "it's the highlight of my year, seeing these little ones having such fun whilst being encouraged so well by the older sports leaders fills me with such pride. This is yet again an example of how Harlow leads the way in the realms of School Sport - our kids were amazing and the fantastic comments from the staff, parents and grandparents (not too mention the high fives and smiles from the children) makes the hours of emails and organisation all worthwhile. Thank you all, we make a fantastic team."
